Link: Health Affairs Briefing
August 20, 2009 Susan Dentzer, Editor-in-Chief of Health Affairs presented a briefing on:
As I listened to the beginning parts of the conference, and the distinguished guest speakers, I noted that the information presented was non-partisan, and objective in presenting both sides of the health reform picture. Some of the discussion involved the topic of “What exactly is the federal government’s role in U.S. health care currently, and how might this change under health reform?”
A few of the speakers included:
- C. Everett Koop, MD, Former Surgeon General of the United States and Senior Scholar, C. Everett Koop Institute, Dartmouth (by telephone)
- Richard Carmona, MD, MPH, Former Surgeon General of the United States and Chairman, Canyon Ranch Foundation (by telephone)
- David Colby, PhD, Vice President, Research, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
