POV Critical Condition, a documentary by Roger Weisberg, originally broadcasted on PBS, is available for online viewing in its entirety until November 11, 2008. A synopsis of the film can be found here.
As I watched the beginning chapter of these stories, reflected on the rising cost of healthcare, and the rising numbers of uninsured Americans, I began to think... How will healthcare IT make a difference?
The answer is not entirely clear right now, but, in addition to other national initiatives, one solution may involve reducing the business costs of healthcare and improving efficiencies in the delivery of healthcare. The appropriate, effective use of IT has reduced operating costs in other industries, why not Healthcare?
Critical Condition is a production of Public Policy Productions Inc. in association with Thirteen/WNET New York and American Documentary | P.O.V.
