According to a September poll published on NPR's Health Blog at the link above, public support for health-care overhaul is rising. Interest in reform and support for taking action was surveyed by The Kaiser Family Foundation. Of even greater interest, 57% of those surveyed say they want action now, and 56% of Americans say "they have put off care in the last year because they couldn't pay for it."

That is an amazing statement. If over half of Americans are putting off care because they can't pay for it, and others are going "bankrupt" due to healthcare related expenses, it means that America will get "sicker" and costs will continue to rise. How will we be able to successfully compete in an aggressive and competitive global economy? Other reports that have recently surfaced compare the U.S. Healthcare System to those in other developed nations, one such report was entitled "Sick Around the World."
I recently watched a PBS Health Care Reform Special Report. This show was/is quite interesting because it truly opened my eyes by hearing stories from people who are suffering because of gaps in our current healthcare system. It also informed me about the significance and magnitude of our nation's health care issues. To watch the video, click on the link below.
